Dell Murphy focuses her practice on residential real estate closings and brings more than three decades of experience in the real estate industry. She has extensive experience resolving title issues and handling REO transactions, as well as working with builders and developers. Prior to joining O’Kelley & Sorohan, Dell served as a managing attorney with other firms, worked as in-house counsel for a volume residential builder, and was an owner and partner in her own firm.

Dell’s interest in real estate law began before she became an attorney. After buying and selling several homes herself, she developed an appreciation for the closing process and pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Art History with a minor in Real Estate from Georgia State University in 1989. Her real estate studies fueled her passion for the industry and allowed her to obtain her Georgia Real Estate Broker’s license. She later earned her Juris Doctor from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School in 1992.

For Dell, one of the most rewarding parts of her practice is helping customers understand the closing process and what to expect as they step into homeownership. She strives to provide educational, thorough, and respectful guidance, taking the time to explain important details and make each closing a positive and memorable experience. Dell recognizes that while a closing may be part of her everyday routine, it is often one of the biggest milestones in a customer’s life.

Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Dell has called Georgia home for more than 30 years. Outside of the office, she enjoys sewing and reading detective mysteries. She and her husband live in Canton and enjoy spending time with their two grown children and four grandchildren.
